Adoption Application Process Our adoption process has several parts. 1: After your application is received, we will conduct a basic background check. Once this phase is complete, an adoption coordinator will be in contact with you via email. 2. A non-refundable $10 adoption fee is then requested to continue the process. The $10 fee will be applied as a credit towards your adoption. Once your fee is paid, we will contact your references. Fees can be paid via venmo @PA PitStop Rescue. 3. After your references are contacted, we will contact you via phone to set up a virtual home check. It is up to you to provide clear, accurate information in order to process your application. PA PitStop Rescue reserves the right to deny an application for any reason without disclosing the source of information or violating the confidentiality of the process. An application is not a guarantee that the dog of interest will be available at the time of your approval. 4. Once approved, you will be asked to provide a 50% deposit (half of your adoption fee) to hold your dog of choice. We provide you a 24-hour courtesy hold to place the deposit. If the deposit is not received in 24 hours, the hold is released and other adopters are able to then place deposits. Holds are non-refundable unless something happens to the pup prior to adoption or their are extenuating circumstances regarding fit after adoption. Deposits are transferable to another dog and can be held for future use. 5. We do not allow adopters to meet dogs until applications are approved. We are foster based and you may visit someone's home. Please understand this policy is to protect our fosters, their families, and the dogs.
Adoption Fees Our adoption fees can vary from $250-600. Our standard adoption fee is currently $600. This includes vetting until adoption, transport to PA, spay/neuter.
Fostering We absolutely always need fosters! We cannot do what we do without them! If you'd like to be part of our team, the process is much the same as adopting. Please use our Adoption Application Form and select "Foster" in the drop down menu. Fees are not collected on Foster Applications.
Foster to Adopt We do offer a Foster to Adopt Program. It is a 2-week trial period where you welcome your new potential pet into your home. |
